Hi Guys,
I'm looking for an SSD for my build (for the obvious reasons) and I would like some help with which one to pick. I have a budget of about $250 AUD but can stretch a little. I was looking at about 500GB as I already have 1TB HDD. If you think i should be getting less storage I'd love to hear your reasons why :)

Here is the link to my build - http://au.pcpartpicker.com/b/Ptr7YJ

Also this shop would be the best for me to use - http://www.pccasegear.com/

Thanks for your help in advance,

Callum

dont get samsung 850 pro. get the evo. pro just has a longer warranty/lifespan. almost same performance as the evo. pro is more for heavy writes for things like video editing.

850 evo is a better drive than the sandisk though. one of the best on the market.
bx200 is a good, affordable ssd that keeps up with read speeds on some of the top drives. writes are a little slower but its worth the money. i have two friends with them and they work very well. i'm not sure on availability for your area though.

500gb is nice to have if you can afford it.

i run my OS with a 120gb. 20gb is reserved. keep my system maintained at 30gb in size. at all times i have 60-70gb available for non-gaming programs. i have a 500gb ssd just for games.

probably will work well for you to run the os and games on the ssd. having games on the ssd will really only help load times though. they would be fine on the 1tb hdd if you want to save and get the 120gb or 240gb.

Thanks for replying,

They don't have the crucial SSD at the store I use (PCCG). I was looking at the Sandisk Extreme pro https://www.pccasegear.com/products/32136/sandisk-extreme-pro-480gb-2-5in-ssd
or
Kingston HyperX https://www.pccasegear.com/products/31856/kingston-hyperx-savage-480gb-2-5in-ssd

Thoughts?

Thanks for replying,

I did want to store most of my games aswell as OS on the SSD but thinking about ti now I've only just used 400gb on my HDD with everything on it. That is mostly my games but i wouldn't put all my games across. But also, thinking about the future, the more games I have the more storage I need.

I would be putting games such as Fallout 4, Skyrim, CSGO and BO2 on the SSD as these are the games I play the most. I do have other big games that I don't play that often like Sniper Elite 3 and Alien Isolation (got them for free).

I am split with am split with my decision on 250GB or 500GB :??:

Ok I think ill probably go with the 250 then. Which one would u recommend?

Samsung 850 Pro,
San Disk Extreme Pro
or maybe a different one?

Hmm yes. Doing some research on it now

Thanks

Yeh I think evo is the better option. It seems to be fairly equal with the pro in benchmark tests and it saves me money :)

Yes I saw :)
