what is the best ssd and the 2 best if the 1 is to much for my wallet, on the market right now. im gonna upgrade from my wd velociraptor 600 sata 6 to a ssd as my boot drive and the wd for storage like games and such.

i normally use it for games

Samsung 840 Pro
I have the 830, which is great! I run some of my games off it now, and use a Asus RAIDR PCIe based SSD.... Don't know if it is worth the money difference, but it DOES boot a LITTLE faster them my 830 did. Probably shaved a few seconds off boot.

you would need to install programs to the ssd to make them load faster.

would it be better to have a Samsung 840 EVO 250 gb for win 7 and one Samsung 840 EVO 500 gb for games and programs insted of the hdd. or will it work just as good whit one 500 gb in 2 partitions.

i have a 3 tb hdd for video and other storge

I would just load the intensive applications on an ssd. You could get a ssd/hdd hybrid so that you have ssd like speeds but the price and storage of a traditional hdd.

but would it be the same as have 2 ssds, like one 500 gb in 2 partitions for holding the system clean so it dont get slower like a normal hdd

I would put the os on an actual ssd. Probably 240gb and everything else on a hybrid. the hybrid will be able to be accessed at ssd speeds but it will be alot cheaper to store games and what not.

yeah but i just wanna know if it is not slowing it down by have it in 2 partitions so there is not gonna get too much junk on the os partition like a normal hdd vs on 1 ssd, whit all of it on the same partition.

OOOOOHHH I see lol! Partitioning the SSD with windows on one half and games and stuff on the other half should be fine. You arnt going to see a huge difference with two ssd. That way you have room to expand as well later.

thx mate. i think i start out whit one Samsung 840 Pro 256gb for the os and maybe replace my 10000 rpm velociraptor
