Best ssd

I haven't had any experience or seen a lot of testimonials on Corsair SSDs, but Corsair makes excellent products all around so their SSDs are probably pretty good as well.

If I were to recommend an SSD, it would be the samsung 840. They are very reliable and efficient.

I normally recommend Samsung. Crucial, Intel, and Plextor are also worth considering.

It is okay if you have a preference for the Corsair Neutron.

I maintain the ssd database listed in the sticky at the very top of this forum section. Here is the link:

Scroll down to the brands and models that interest you and follow the links to the technical reviews.

^ +1, It is hard to say for sure about a new product like the neutron without much review to go on. I am sure it is a good drive, but will it be the best for you? Who knows?

I have always used SanDisk and I have been amazed at the quality and speed I get from them...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820171741 This is the one I would suggest... The above suggestions are also good!

Another great choice:

Unfortunately currently out of stock on Newegg. I bought it a month ago when it was 199$. I think I made a great deal. Performance is really close to Samsung 840 Pro, but has better sustained read & write and less performance degradation over the years because it uses the new Maxwell controller instead of Sandforce. I always liked the great quality of Plextor products and it has a 5-year warranty.

Anyone who thinks Maxwell is producing controllers is not much of an expert to recommend SSDs to others

steave_01 - I'm pretty sure it is a typographical error. The Plextor MP5 Pro that MC_K7 linked to is equipped with a Marvell
88SS9187-BLD2 controller.

rmiiirusty - The Corsair Neutron and Neutron GTX are not new ssd's. They were introduced last August. There are plenty of reviews. I've got 14 technical reviews listed in the ssd database. The link to the ssd database is in the comment I made earlier.
