[citation][nom]blazorthon[/nom]For mobile computers, the 830's power usage advantage can also be important. However, with desktops, SSDs just don't use enough power to make a noticeable difference in the electric bill.[/citation]
I'm pleased someone said something, 'cause I wish there was more direct commentary on the subject.

I hope to see a M4 vs. an 830 vs. a V+ 100 in a couple of scenarios. Please.

I checked out the SanDisk Extreme SSD 480GB on amazon (the 240GB version is
reviewed in the Hexus article I mentioned in an earlier post)--it's going for
$450 dollars. Isn't that a good bargain?

^ thanks for the tip, but I want 480GB for games and music production (MIDI
Strat, etc.). The Mushkin Chronos Deluxe 480GB is also about $450 on Google
Shopping. The SanDisk Extreme SSD also shows high performance at Hexus. So I
wondered if either, both high performance and low price, would be a cheaper way
to get the performance of an Intel 520 480GB.

Problem: "If you want an SSD which doesn’t slow down over time, you should
consider products based on the Marvell 88SS9174 controller. That’s why such SSDs
offer a higher write speed than their SandForce-based counterparts when filled
with data."

The Intel 520, Sandisk Extreme SSD , and Mushkin Chronos Deluxe are Sandforce
but the Intel uses top-bin NAND flash from IMFT for added reliability. Since
I'm splurging from a low budget, I also want the SSD to last, so does that mean
I'm back where I started with an expensive Intel 520?

Did this article push demand for Mushkin Enhanced Chronos Deluxe 120GB as to drive the price up? It says its supposed to be around $120 All I see at major retailers is $190-200.

Or am did the author mean the MX?
