The MX500 P1 series was the first one I looked at but I felt as if the Intel 660p was a better price for the performance. Im now thinking maybe ill spend the extra $10 for the mx500 but im not sure if the extra 100 or 200mbs per second is worth it since im saving my money to buy a better keyboard.Right now, my favorite SSD is the P1 series from Crucial. For $84 you can get a 500GB NVME SSD. Alternatively you could get the 500GB from the MX500 series for $70. Both have pretty good performance and compare favorably to Samsung drives.
You won't see much difference either in performance and in Your walletmaybe ill spend the extra $10 for the mx500 but im not sure if the extra 100 or 200mbs per second is worth it since im saving my money to buy a better keyboard.
If I am not mistaken, the 660p is a m.2 pcie device.
The Samsung 860 evo is a m.2 sata device. The pcie version(960/970) will have faster sequential data rates.
Coming from a HDD, you will be very pleased with ANY SSD.
I would pay a bit more for the performance and reliability of Intel or Samsung.
They make their own parts and can control quality and integration better.
I particularly like Samsung if you will be moving your windows C drive installation to a ssd.
Their ssd migration app is trivially easy to use.
I havent heard much about these new ssds but is there any estimated price and capacity or not at allWe have the BarraCuda SSD, the price range you mention should include both the 250GB and 500GB models.
We do also have a new series of SSDs announced that should be hitting the market fairly soon, including the BarraCuda 510 (NVMe), FireCuda 510 (NVMe) & IronWolf 110 (SATA), but they're not out just yet and pricing info isn't available.
