What is the best standalone joystick with rudder twist? I hear the saitek x55 is good when it works, but the quality control is abysmal.

I recently ordered a CH flight pro throttle, as it seems to be very well regarded. However, the CH flight pro stick does not have rudder twist and requires pedals, which I do not want to get for money and space reasons.

I recently picked up a Thrustmaster HOTAS. I think it violates your space requirement, but the throttle does detach (though annoyingly the cord is not long enough to place on either side of a standard 104 keyboard.)

I haven't messed with it much, but I was very impressed with the return to zero positioning. A far cry from the old analog joysticks of my youth (recalibration at every use)

I ended up getting the Thrustmaster T16000M because it can function standalone and was rated as being very accurate, even more so than the more expensive CH fighterstick.
