Hi guys !

So 2 months ago I made my new gaming rig, and the only storage I have is a Samsung 840 Pro 256GB.
Now, I would like to get some more room to store files like music,photos,etc...
I've been looking for the best storage/price ratio HDD, since I won't be running any games or programs from it, maybe just a single player game that i play rarely, I think speed doesn't really matter.

What HDD would you guys recommend to my situation ? One that called my attention is the 3TB Seagate Barracuda.

I would go with a Seagate Barrcuda 1Tb . I am running a Samsung 830 256Gb SSD ( I came in early ) and have two WD 1 Tb Hdds. One a SATA II and the other a SATA III and both Caviar Black which you can't find for some reason. You can find a 2Tb Caviar Black.

here are two relatively good HDD's. 3TB of capacity
Seagate-

Toshiba-

However if you dont need that much space then get one of these. i have one and i cant fault it so far-

Beart in mind these are Uk prices so things may vary where you live. seagate or Western digital seem to be the way to go with HDD's though.

newegg has a 2tb Toshiba, which is actually a Hitachi, for $75 today on shellshocker which is slightly better price per TB than the $120 for 3tb Seagate.
There are lots of reviews about some of the seagates click or squealing and there is a firmware update to help for this but not on their Chinese plant made ones which end in -1ch166. I have two of the Chinese ones and they don't squeal or click ...yet.
The Toshibas are not as quick adrive but as you said, thts not what you're looking for.

Hi. We don't know what Motherboard he has. The newer ones, or at least some have a disk unlocker that will allow for using more than 2 Gb. If he doesn't have one, then he will be limited to 2 Gb anyway.
