I need to know about what is the best
Matching gpu for my i5 3470,will these gpus bottleneck my system?,my specs are,
Msi h61m p32 w8(mobo)(pcie 3.0)
8gb ddr3 1333mhz(ram)
1tb hdd toshiba 6gb/s(hdd)
FSP HEXA+ 450W(psu)(planning to buy,i know its not the best,i'm in tight budget )
I think there might be some bottleneck if i use gtx 1060,because
I saw in benchmark video that i5 4460(i assume performance equals with 3470)with gtx 970 in gta 5 cpu usage goes about 96% in 4cores,in this case both gpus i mentioned here faster than gtx 970. My favorite titles are,
Battlefield1,watchdogs2,rise of tombraider,gta5,nfs 2016,ac unity,battlefield4,crysis3,...etc.

My gaming resolution is 1080p 60hz(i'm planning to buy),i think when resolution decreases bottleneck minimize,if it correct, what if use 1600x900(i know this is ridiculous, using 900p with 1080p card, but i got no option)?

usermax,
I read the article about the RX-480 beating the GTX1060 by 50%, however it's extremely unlikely this represents DX12/Vulkan game performance in general. There is a LOT that can affect the results, especially with the API being so new and AMD having a lead with Mantle on developing their drivers. We've also got a few other titles, but not many, as well as the Timespy Demo.

(I would estimate the performance gain may end up closer to 15% on average for DX12/Vulkan with some titles benefitting much more, but it's still a wait-and-see. Don't get me wrong, I know that DX12/Vulkan working with the ACE hardware in GCN favors AMD, however it's simply a question of how much on AVERAGE. I'm not comfortable estimating this for at least...
Games vary by CPU load. Even a GTX1080 will work better than a GTX1070 in many titles so that's not a huge issue.

It mainly comes down to budget.

Since you say "tight" budget then I recommend either one of these (when prices stabilize as they are in short supply and overpriced usually).

a) RX-480 8GB (not 4GB model)
(i.e. Asus Strix or similar with 2-fans and 8-pin power connector)

or
b) GTX1060 6GB
(2-fan, non-reference/founders, 8-pin connection)

Example: can see the SUMMARY of game performance. Note the GTX1060:
- overall is just over 10% faster
- is the same as RX-480 in some titles
- is faster than RX-480 by over 30% in some titles

So look through all the game scores.

Summary:
If the prices stabilize and the GTX1060 is in your budget then I'd go with that, otherwise the RX-480 8GB (non-reference) as described.

So why would you say something like this? The GTX 1060 is only close to 30% faster in OLDER gameworks titles for the most part and they lose like 80% of the time in DX12/Vulkan supported titles and not only do they lose they get down right stomped. PCgamers did a benchmark where the RX 480 was more than 50% faster in Vulkan Doom than the GTX 1060. OUCH!!

For your CPU you should find a RX 470 8gb 256 bit card ( all RX 470 cards are 256 bit ). This Cards will OC to beat reference RX 480 cards and can play games at 1440p on medium high to High settings at 60 FPS and you should see 60+ easy at 1080p on Ultra settings in most titles. They are cooler and quieter and OC much better than RX 480's. Now don't get me wrong they wont ever reach the performance of a AiB RX 480 say like the MSI or Sapphire but they WILL beat a Ref RX 480.

If you want to go with Nvidia then the GTX 1060 is a great card other than it's a 128 bit card with no SLI bridge and lacks Async compute at the hardware level so i wouldn't go that route. If you want GTX 1060 performance then go with a AiB RX 480 4GB card like the MSI GX or Sapphire Nitro+. I say the 4GB card only because you are talking 1080p gaming. You could opt for a 8GB RX 480 and know that you could go as high as 4k all though you would have to lower some of your settings.

Hope this helps and happy hunting.

Don't get me wrong, I know that DX12/Vulkan working with the ACE hardware in GCN favors AMD, however it's simply a question of how much on AVERAGE. I'm not comfortable estimating this for at least six months to a year. There is a LOT of changes going on with new game engines, API's etc)

*DX12 and Vulkan games are also NOT going to be commonplace for quite a while. You need to look at the CURRENT games you play now and over the next year.

**Future proofing at the expensive of the present rarely makes sense.

I do recommend the card if the PRICE is right compared to the GTX1060, though whether to choose 8GB or 4GB on a tight budget is a tough decision. Unfortunately the prices are pretty skewed right now so I can't give better advice on VALUE until the prices stabilize (supply issue).

The RX-470 is also a good choice. I think it's about 87% as powerful as the RX-480.

It's worth noting that DX11 AMD drivers are not well optimized (I just read that a large part of that may be a GCN hardware issue). So for people with weaker CPU's the NVidia GPU is going to perform better relatively in some DX11 games and those are the most common games sold.

Summary:
There is no wrong answer here. It comes down to budget and the titles you intend to play.

I have no problem recommending any of these cards (but I would ignore the GTX1060 3GB version). Specifically:

- GTX480 4GB or 8GB
- GTX470 4GB or 8GB
- GTX1060

It may be that the GTX1060 costs significantly more, so in that case the RX-480 may be the best choice. The best reason to choose a GTX1060 is if you know that you will play a lot of a game or two that runs much better on it vs the RX-480.

Anyway, GOOD LUCK and enjoy whatever you buy.

Final note.. make sure the cards are non-reference and have adequate power (i.e. 8-pin or 2x6-pin). The dual-fan configs are best unless you need a small card, or the budget is so tight you can only afford a particular card that has a single fan.

first i'm appreciate all these advices!!!
I got zotac gtx 1060 amp 6gb with fsp hexa+ 450 also acer 1080p display(hdmi) ,coz sapphire rx 480 8gb nitro+ both are same price in my country.i'm very happy about my pc's performance but bit confuced with few titles,
1.Crysis 3 delux edition:- in 'welcome to jungle' part it dips to 30 fps some times & gpu usage at 50%-60% most of the time.
2.Batman Arkham Knight:-it work like crazy..lol,when it get 99% gpu usage it get 60+ fps ,then it drops below 40 & gpu usage 40%-60%,never get stable 99% gpu load.
3.Watch dogs:-also same story here!
note:i monitored games with msi afterburner & rivartuner statistic server,i'm noticed 50%-90% cpu usage with above titles(most of the time 65-75).then I think this is not cpu bottleneck issue.
i'm never experienced that kind of problem with my old setup in 2013,
i3 3220 3.3ghz,gtx 650 1gb,gigabyte h61,2x4gb 1333mhz ram,coolermaser 350w psu, that old setup could execute crisis 3 @ 720p high settings 30-50 fps without any issue(always give 99%-100% gpu usage)

I also got better performance1080p(50-60fps most of the time with max settings, sometimes lower AA to FXAA or 2xmsaa) with below titles
Rise of tombrider,Assassins creed unity/Syndicate,The Crew,Witcher 3,GTA V
those tiltes run butter smooth..lol
still sad with crisis 3 coz I love that game a lot ,if someone know fix for that issue please inform me...
thanks all of you for giving me advices!!!!!!

I have i5 3470 and gtx 1060 6gb, 8gb ram, etc... And so, I have a really bad fps in bf3/bf4/gta5, because of low gpu usage (20-50) on any settings. Tomb Rider runs smooth, dirt rally, call of duty, doom, beamng - too. I don't know what is happening, I didn't find any solution, shit...
