My son's gaming PC is in my signature.

He needs a new headset for gaming. He has 50% hearing in 1 ear and emphasizes surround sound and sound separation as being his top priorities. He's mentioned the Logitech Pro X Gaming Headset.

What are the top options for his needs? Please help me narrow down a list to choose from, and why.

Thank you everyone!!!

Surround sound in headsets is all virtual, it’s not real surround sound unless you have one of the very rare and expensive multi driver headsets and even then it’s nothing like a true surround sound speaker setup. However if you want if you want to go virtual surround sound the best route is a gaming DAC and stereo headset. Something like the Sennheiser GSX 1000 or 1200 or one of the Sound Blaster options. I’d suggest looking at some reviews of gaming DAC’s.
