Best Thermal Paste Method For 4690K

Which method should I use to apply thermal paste to my new 4690k with a stock Intel HSF. I bought Arctic Silver 5 3.5g i'm not sure if that changes what method either.
Method 1: Dot in the center of the CPU.
Method 2: Vertical line down the CPU.
Or is there another method that is better?

For the stock heatsink I'd say the dot tbh
It has a small, round copper bit on the underside.

Either one will do though, they're both great methods for applying thermal paste. My reluctance to use the line method just spans from being unaware of which angle the CPU die is sitting at - Without research at least.
