I know that monitors are better for gaming than tv's but I have a tv and I would like to know how I should set it up for gaming.mostly on pc.
It is a 47inch VIZIO M470VSE-1

It has all the basic settings and some advanced stuff.
In the advanced picture menu I have-
-Noise Reduction
-MPEG NR
-Color Enhancement
-Adaptive Luma
-Film Mode
-Backlight Control
-Ambient Light Sensor
^^^All of the above are turned off^^^
It also has Color Temperature and a gaming mode.

Gaming Mode is off.
Should I turn it on ? I haven't turned it on because I thought it was kinda like vsync, which I hate and for the color temps,I have left them at default.

When I used to play my console games on TV, I would always set the TV on game mode. The settings always had a nice colour for gaming that I always liked. Although, I had an LG TV, so i'm not sure how your TV's game mode would look like.

Thanks for the reply. I did a little studying and it seems like game mode just skips anything that would cause input lag,so I'm gonna turn it on for now.
My daughter has a ton of disney blu-rays,but I don't know which ones have the calibration feature, plus I keep reading that I need something called a blue filter, which I don't have.
I did find this http://www.hifivision.com/television/11390-free-hdtv-calibration-disc-avsforum.html and I think that requires tools that I don't have as well.
Whats the point of these calibration blurays and dvd's if regular people can't use them without pro tools ? I consider myself to be tech savy and I'm confident that I could do this but I need to find a good way to do it without buying these ridiculously expensive tools.
I'm not talking about the blu-rays,i'm mean something like this http://www.digitaltrends.com/tv-accessories-reviews/spyder4tv-hd-review/
