Best type of internet connection for gaming.

Hello I am struggling to find a good alternative to a WIRED connection from my modem/router to my pc. I have done some research on repeaters, power line adapters and gaming routers. However unfortunately I came to discover the many flaws of each type. So my question is what would be thje best alternative to a wired connection from pc to modem/router whilst maintaining a consistent low ping and no random spikes, as well as fast internet sped?

You said it - the best is "wired", direct Ethernet cable from your PC to the router. "Low ping", "Fast Internet speed" are beyond your control - it is up to your ISP, your service, and other users on same router.
