Best upgrade for streaming?

Right now I have an LGA 1150 motherboard that doesn't support overclocking with an i5-4690k in it. I can either buy a motherboard that supports OC, so I could take it from the 3.5 ghz it is now to maybe 4.2 ghz or buy an i7, but have to keep it stock. What is better for streaming, which I guess benefits from more cores.

4790 would be a good choice as it will allow hyper threading to 8 logical cores.

but would it be better than what I have now? Because I could either get a new motherboard for $180 and OC, but if I get the core i7, it would stay at the normal clock.

Ideally streaming needs more cores and i7 will handle it better than an i5. Having said that i5 should be able to handle it but wont be as good as the i7 in performance while streaming.
Also depends on what exactly you wanna stream. If its games, then i7 should be better, considering you are on Haswell platform.
