Best upgrade path

I have a home build gaming rig (low end) with the following:
Windows 10 Home 64 bit
MSI A78M-E45 Mobo
AMD Athlon X4 750K Quad Core Processor, 3400 Mhz (overclocked to 3900-4200)
Radeon R9 280X
Coolermaster GeminiII S524 v.2CPU cooler
16GB Crucial RAM
700W PSU
1TB WD Black 7200rpm HD
I am looking for the best upgrade path. Some games like Battleground are a bit laggy for me. Can I keep my mobo/CPU and get enough boost out of a new GPU or is the CPU the most likely bottleneck?

Would getting another Radeon R9 280X and setting up dual GPU's offer any significant increase?

You should upgrade your cpu and motherboard first. That cpu is definitely bottleneckingThe 280x is stil la decent 1080p card. I would get r5 1600 if you can afford it.
