Hello, My Router is 1 room above and at nights i want to take advantage of the speed my modem provides when using my laptop(2014 with usb 3 ports) in my bedroom, thats why im considering buying a usb 3 or 2 wi fi adapter to achieve this. (at least 802.11a/b/g/n all the way to 802.11a/b/g/n/ac)

I know that USB 3.0 is way faster than usb 2 but i cant find any product that has amazing reviews, i mean i was interested in the following usb 3 wifi adapters (all the reviews seem to be lacking [3 1/2 eggs and amazon reviews on most] ):
- Linksys WUSB6300
- Asus USB-AC56
- TRENDnet TEW-805UB
- Edimax EW-7822UAC
-Rosewill AC1200UBE

if a normal usb 2.0 can achieve speeds of 100-200 mbps i would buy them, im just not sure, my network speed is supposedly 200 up and down symetrical 😀(tested on various websites connected by wired network), thanks for help.
If possible windows 7 & 8.1 compatible and under $80. Thanks again.

To even think of those speeds you must have 802.11ac both on your router and your USB card. This also means you have to be able to get good 5g reception between the router and the USB nic. USB2 should be able to run 450m but if you have a USB 3 port you might as well use it instead.

You are really going to be running the wireless at the very edge of the capacity. When you look at the testing sites it is quite a challenge to get 200m up and 200m down. Now this assume you only have the 1 router and 1 PC if you start running multiple devices connecting to the router your wireless speed will drop off dramatically.
