Hey community,
It was my B-Day the other day and i have collected some funds for a second monitor and I want to purchase it in the next couple of days.
I was wondering what is the best value IPS monitor at the moment?

Things to consider:

  • HAS TO BE A PRODUCT ON AMAZON.CO.UK (I have £80 in gift codes :D)
Budget is £160 but i could stretch to £180
Has to be 23 or 24 inch to match my current monitor
    Has to be IPS.
    Has to be awesome.

Here are a few of the monitors i have been looking at:

So is the dell one better or not? Because i dont mind spending another 30 odd quid on a better monitor.

I've never owned a Dell Monitor but they are generally well regarded, however they tend to have a lower GTG time i.e. 8ms on one of the ones you linked. This would be fine for most applications except GAMING!, where you might experience ghosting. For gaming anything under 6ms is fine and the Asus VX239H has a 5ms response time. Honestly though it probably depends how good your eyesight is as to whether or not that would bother you.

I have just purchased the Dell one as it was only 30 quid more and has better and more reviews and a thinner border. I wont be using this monitor much for gaming as it will be my secondary monitor. But thanks anyway. Also - the Dell one is compatible with most VESA mounts so if in the future i wanted to get a dual monitor VESA mount then i can buy another dell monitor.
