Sorry I completely forgot to add that crucial piece of info but will mark your response as answered.
Believe i or not this box is out performing my i5 for hosting virtuals. I'm using the same hardware in each, it's odd but I'd like to continue the experiment and see what happens.
HERE's THE LINK TO MY ORIGINAL POST THAT HASN'T RECIEVED ANY RESONSES... I ALSO PASTED THE LINK BELOW...
et's get to it...
1.) ASUS A88XM-A FM2+
2.) AMD A10-7870K
3.) 16GB DDR3 Ram. I forget the brand, probably the Samsung DIMMs most of us have laying around. Speccy says Ramexel Technology @ 800MHz
4.) Intel SSD's, 4
5.) No dedicated graphics card
Prior to this I used all the same stuff in an i5 6600. One boring weekend I decided to move it all to the AMD build above and I've been absolutely amazed the AMD build is noticeably faster running Virtual Machines with Hyper-V.
This contradicts everything I thought I knew lol.
Then I tested the RAM on the AMD and it was below awful.
I read something on here about AMD and Intel using DDR3 differently, which I'd like to know more about BUT from what I've seen already I'd like to max the RAM on this board out to 32GB DDR3 but feeling so confused after this build I'm coming to the experts.
What do you think???
I'd really like to continue this experiment, what kind of RAM should I purchase to continue this freaky build?
