It's finally time to upgrade from my ancient i7 4630k. I snagged a $150 10700k from MicroCenter along with an MSI Z490-A Pro motherboard and will be assembling it as soon as I pick up some new RAM. This will be my first foray into DDR4 , so I'm seeking advice about the best value RAM for the money today. I have an RTX 3060Ti and plan on playing in 1440p most of the time (some games at 4K, depending on the settings). Looking forward to playing Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite, Destiny 2, Cyberpunk, etc. on the new rig.

Coming from 8GB of DDR3 1600 on my old PC, I'm guessing 16GB (2x 8GB) 3200 should be fine for what I'll be doing. I've had good luck with Corsair Vengeance and GSkill Ripjaws (DDR3) in my old rig - are these still good choices with DDR4 today? I saw some highly rated T-Force Vulcan Z RAM going for about $10 less than the equivalent GSkill and Corsair memory. Should I step up to faster memory, or more of it?

Id go for 3200mhz ram and just set it to xmp. Honestly id say spend the extra $10 for the gskill ram. I have had nothing but great experiences with gskill ram (current build has been running the same gskill ripjaws for 8+ years and it is still going strong. 16GB is fine for now, but why not go with 32gb and never worry about needing more in the future. The ripjaws go for about $115 on newegg for a 32GB set of two 16GB sticks.
