If you don't want to spend much you should buy a Geforce SDR or Geforce2 mx, if you want ATI then Radeon VE. For 800X600X16 it should be enough (I have TNT2 Vanta, Duron 600, PCCHIPS M805LR mobo and QuakeIII runs smoothly in 1024X768X16 with max settings).

Either a TNT ultra or a Geforce MX would do you fine

Why do I use LINUX ? Cause its the BEST OS
Why do I use Windows? Cause its the BEST Nintendo..

The Radeon LE is the cheapest and will give you the best performance overall next to the GeForce2 GTS on your K6-2.

AMD technology + Intel technology = Intel/AMD Pentathlon IV; the ULTIMATE PC processor

So where does the Nvidia Vanta LT 16m AGP ($28) card compare to those listed above/below?? Same same K62 500 on Fic 503+.

Don't even consider the Vanta, it doesn't even reach TNT performance. It's not worth buying that graphics deaccelerator.

For one thing the VA503+ had problems with TNT2 cards. You can try an MX (original or MX400, not the MX200) which has a low current draw due to it's smaller transistors. Or a Radeon LE for the same price (or less) but better performance. And yes, the Vanta stinks.

so the geforce 2 mx 400 would be fine? will it run games smoothly? is there actual performance differences in the mx200 and mx400?

The MX should work, but I cannot garuntee it. I would buy one locally to test it first, that way you can return it if it doesn't work. Super 7 boards had problems with certain video cards because most could not supply a high amount of current to the AGP slot. As for the MX200 v 400, the 400 is at least 50% faster due to its 100% greater memory bandwidth (128-bit for the 400 vs 64-bit for the 200).

Those faster NVidia boards use up more current, if you are worried about not supplying enough juice to your Video Board, try finding one like the Radeon VE, or Geforce MX (or GTS if you can) version. To find out if a Video card is compatible, go to the MB company's support site and see if they give any recommendations. The ATI card uses less voltage than the NVidia cards, but it would be good to make sure before you make your choice.

If it works for you then don't fix it.

The original MX and the MX400 are basically the same thing. The GTS uses slightly more current do to it's higher clock speed. The Radeon LE is a better choice than the VE because it has the full version Radeon chip for additional performance without a large power penalty.
