best way to connect 2 routers togeather

I just upgraded from a Linksys WRT-160N v3 to a Netgear WNDR4700 wireless router. With the Linksys I could see and access files and folders on all 3 win 7 machines, but with the Netgear I cannot. what is the best way co connect the linksys to the netgear to inable me to see & access each computer through windows explorer network folder?

It might not be the router. When you connected the computer to the new router, what network you did select, did you select home network in Windows? Because your computer will "think" the worst and most likely select public to protect it.

Go into the linksys config, turn off DHCP, connect this "router" as if it was a switch... because with DHCP off and connected to the netgear router through one of the normal ports (aka nothing connected to the WAN port) - that's pretty much what it becomes.

If you use the "routing" features on both routers - there is no (easy) way to have all computers attached to one see the files on the other device. Easier to make the old one into a switch.
