Best way to go about OC'ing on asrock fatal1ty gaming i7 mobo?

So I have an ASROCK Fatal1ty Gaming i7 mobo (z170) w/ a 6700K CPU.

I want to OC to 4.2, then 4.4 max. What would be a safe voltage to test out going from 4.0 to 4.2? Don't want it on auto ofc.

And do I need to set the default XMP profile for ram? I have

google is ur friend: "There is no official word on a safe CPU core voltage. But it is widely accepted that you shouldn't exceed 1.45V. If you're the type of user who likes to play it safe, then keep it under 1.4V. The amount of time to invest in stress testing is subjective."

Overclocking to 4.2Ghz has been done with only 1.32v but keep it under 1.35v if at all possible. Ideally for 24/7 overclocking you shouldnt' go over 1.35 volts. Leave XMP using you dial in the CPU voltage so its not affecting the OC. One thing at a time and then you may have to adjust the voltage a bit to get things stable at higher RAM speeds.
