I have already done this. (the second router is just a gateway to the internet it does not have its own source of adsl) the things I want to know are how heavy is the router going to get hit for example. the old router was dieing fast just from wireless traffic alone let alone my own pc torrenting 24/7/365 24hours a day and this lead to a long and slow death for the router. now my second router is not switched on yet but its connected to wan/lan port 1 and im finding when I do turn it on everything in the entire house connects right away and this is worring for me as my i5 gaming rig has a lot of issues with the wireless (e.g. cant find the nas on the first router) and when I connect it via etho1 on the secondry router (internet gateway - adsl 2- 5.5megabit's) it starts to find the nas and then finds it but can not seem to stay connected to it when using the wifi and lan unless I use my software alturinve (E.G. connectify hotspot/dispatch) and then it will find both the main and seccondry routers and all items connected (I feel its a waste having it connected to both routers and killing the first, draining off the second and then having to replace them again) how long will the router last with it connected to all the clients all the time (I mean the netgear nighthawk ac1900) as I need to know how often I will be buying them. they cost a fair bit on my income and my employer will not provide more then 1 a year
