Hey all
So I attempted to build my first gaming pc for my 21 birthday in July. Sadly with the amount of money I put into it and the performance I get with even some xbox360/ps3 generation games I consider it a failed attempt. I feel really bad about the whole thing in general but I don't want to give up just yet. Could anyone give me some good tips on how to go about upgrading my gaming pc to meet current standards? I'm really worried all of my parts are tied together and I can't really upgrade one part without upgrading three to five other parts as well.

I really would appreciate any advice.

Specs:

Windows 7
AMD FX6300 CPU (I'm pretty sure this is my bottleneck)
Stock heatsink
EVGA GTX 760 GPU
ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 Motherboard
8GB RAM
Can't remember the type of SSD
EVGA 600B 600W Power Supply

Your build actually looks pretty good. I'm surprised you are having any problems. Your CPU is a little weak perhaps. I would reccommend overclocking it with the hyper 212 evo like the person mentioned above me.

You should be able to find some good guides on it around on the internet. Overclocking is daunting at first, but once you learn about it, it's really not that hard and it is quite rewarding.

Also, you say you have 8 GB ram. Is it 1600 mhz at least? That's all you need, but I want to make sure you are not running at 1330 mhz. Sometimes your mobo will actually run your ram at a slower speed than it is designed to run at. If you enter your bios, you should be able to check the settings easily to see the speed it is running at. If it is not, you can change it easily which would help. If you were running at 1330 mhz that could be your problem so make sure to check this.
