Ok, i play a mmorpg game online. It doesn't really support any decent widescreen resolutions so i run it in 1024x768 full screen. As of right now my main tower has a westinghouse 20.1" LCD which works amazing for this game. My 2nd tower has a 17" HP widescreen which doesn't look so great with these settings (all blurred, looks like crap). I am wondering what kind of monitor would look decent with these settings. I've been looking at 18.5" and 20" monitors. Now a days you cant really find standard size flat screens (if you do, widescreens seem to be much cheaper). What kind of monitor should i get to run this resolution without distorting and blurring the visuals?

Do you have the option to run the game in window mode? That could solve the problem by not stretching the game/playing outside of the native resolution of the monitor.

Which MMO is it? I've played so many different ones and I've never had any issue playing on widescreen native resolutions (1680x1050 or 1920x1080/1200)

I think you should look for a 1080P monitor. It will be 1920 x 1080 resolution, regardless of the inch dimension.
That will give you the potential for the most detail. They are also less expensive because they are based on TV panels which are made in large numbers.

I don't have a lot of money to spend on one. Its called shot online. As for windowed mode it does support it but 1024x768 windowed on a widescreen is so damn small, especially my little 17" monitor. You have a shot bar, trying to get a accurate hit on a screen that small is near impossible.

I wish i could test monitors and how they would look in windowed and full before i purchase them. I'm looking for like a 20" monitor. I found an AOC 20" widescreen for 75$ just debating on if it will look proper.
