Best wifi adapter

I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I am using a D-Link DWA-130 adapter. It is terrible. I keep losing my connection to the router which is in my roommates room. I keep trying to get him to move the router but he won't. Is there a WiFi adapter I can buy that will increase my reception? If there is could you tell me the make and model? It is driving me nuts. Please, any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! I've heard a WiFi adapter that you can plug into the mo/bo is best.

You should benefit from an adapter with an external antenna. While they are not pretty, nor compact, they do increase the reception. Also, keep it on a wire, and use it a foot or two away from the computer's case. I use the Netis AC1200, and it works well on both 2.4 and 5 GHz networks.

The adapter you mentioned doesn't support Windows 7 according to the product description on amazon's web site.

The adapter works on Win XP/vista/7 and 8 from the manufacturer's site.

I am using the adapter on my Win 7 desktop to write this and it definitely works.
