Best WiFi USB adapter for range/stability and some Wardriving ?

I'm looking for a STABLE high powered USB Wifi device that supports Wireless N, gets up to ~ 2000mw of power. If it doesn't have an antenna it's BAD. I have a 16dbi Yagi antenna and need it to pick up a signal about 100 yards away and be STABLE.

which worked great for a year, but now the device will lose all wifi networks it can see, and see 0 for a few seconds then reconnect, and lags all to hell when it is not disconnecting.

Wardriving CAN be illegal depending on how it's done. Passive, for example, is generally legal. However, I'm not comfortable giving advice in this area not only because of the questionable legality of it but I also dislike any "gadgets" that may distract a driver.

Technically not wardriving. I just want great range with reliability. I drive a big rig and want to pick up the open routers that are available.

It is getting very hard to find good devices with removable antenna I suspect because of all the new MIMO stuff which requires multiple antenna.

Mimo also prevents wardriving other than just seeing the becons since you cannot reliable get all the overlapping signals as easily from a distance.

I would look at either engenius or ubiquiti outdoor bridging equipment that has the antenna and bridge built into one unit and delivers the signal via ethernet. One of the best I have found is ubiquiti airgrid for about $70 but it is physically pretty big. You would have to read more on ubiquiti site the software can capture traffic but you better be good at unix to mess with these options.
