Best Windows 8.1 Version for Netbook ?

Hello, Im currently using Asus X200CA with 2GB of ram (Non-Upgradable RAM, its soldered into motherboard) with Windows 8.1 PRO Edition.

Quick question guys, if I downgrade to basic edition, will the ram usage is lower than PRO edition ?

if downgrade to basic edition, the ram usage will a little bit lower than PRO edition but if you downgrade to 32bit version then usage will significantly lower.

Yes this will reduce the ram usage however the system performance will not increase noticeably

There is no true "basic" version of Windows 8/8.1, more info HERE.

That being said, running Windows 8.1 on a netbook is going to be taxing no matter the version that's installed on it.
Will it run? Yes, it meets the minimum specifications.

I guess my real question is what are you going to be using it for that requires you to have it on a netbook and are there alternatives available?

Yes im using Windows 8.1 Pro Edition 32BIT and it runs smoothly without problem.
RAM usage is currently about 80% (Firefox 5 Tabs - 1 Youtube, Skype, Bittorent). and im just thinking can i lower the ram usage by downgrading Windows version..

The best version of windows 8 for netbooks is no version of windows 8.
