Best wireless adapter for desktop

Hey all,

I need some help and recommendations please. Currently, I'm using a 2wire 2701HGV-E modem that is sitting in my living room and the distance from it to my desktop which is in another room is about 10 meters.

What would be a better option for wireless connection to my desktop? USB adapter? PCI adapter?
