Hi could any one recommend a wireless home router that has fast wifi speed and also the ability to connect a large number of devices to it? I would be willing to spend £150 max but would like to spend in round £100-£130 for a router

I have fibre opitic in the house and was just wanting a new router that has AC, the router will be used for gaming, watching movies and also sharing files.

Is there a way I can connect a external hard drive to the router and then use it to share files around my home or save work to it? what would you recommend?

Thanks

Most routers now have one or two USB ports for attaching external drives, printers, etc to be shared, and are relatively easy to set up.

If you have more than 5-10 devices, you might consider also getting a wireless access point as well as one of the routers below, especially if you have a room or two that doesn't get a good signal.

Here's a sorted list on Amazon.co.uk

The first one is the least expensive, the 2nd is good, 3rd is better, but the last is most expensive but probably the best given your budget.

Should I change the BT Openreach Modem or will it do? By upgrade will speed increase

I have more than 10 devices but want to be able to have ac and fastest connection for my Macbook Pro think it has AC wireless (2014 model).

With the hard drive will I be able to use it to share files and save movies to and share them with another computer?

Thanks for advice

I'm not familiar with the BT Openreach modems, there seem to be several models.

I don't think you can remove them? othewise you won't have any internet connection.

I recommend all of the routers I posted before. Your choice depends on how much you want to spend.

I also answered the hard drive question previously.
