best wireless router to use as wireless access point?

my isp's (fios) router has a crappy built in wireless, but given it is both a coax converter and used for dvr stuff "I can not get rid off it. I need advice on a $60 to $80 dollar router to use as a wireless access point. I have a 75mbs connection and a moderately sized house.

given I cant wall mount it, does it work well sitting on a desk, or is the range gimped?

Will work absolutely fine, they are omnidirectional radios you will need to download the unifi software to commission it but they are rock solid and great performance. POE is also really handy!

DL the software, plug it into your network. The software will discover the AP. For standard setups yes they are very easy to install. They are pretty self explanatory.

fin al question, sory for being a pain. what is the range on it? as I mean how far a way does it work? my have is 1500sq feet. will it get decent coverage?
