I've been running an i7-4770K since 2013 without much issue. At the time I went with the Asus Maximus VI Hero board. My current case is falling apart with the case USBs dying and such, so I was thinking of getting a new case- which in turn, of course, made me think on beefing up my system a bit more. Adding more of the same SSDs in a bigger raid, obviously cleaning things up physically, and maybe putting things into a motherboard with more features, etc (Like for example the asus VI Extreme with more sata connections)

I've been looking at many boards that would support my hard working 4770K and figured I'd ask what would be the best way to find the most feature rich Z87/LGA1150 board.

Also, recommendations on where to best buy older parts? Just hit up ebay?

Solution
What kind of budget do you have? Some of these board are like 500 dollars on ebay. At that price just buy a new board ram and cpu and a new drive.
