Hi, i want a good motherboard for my i7-4790k.

Is gigabyte a good option or should i go for some other manufacturers like MSI,ASUS.

The boards that fit my budget after researching are:

1)gigabyte z97x UD3H
2) gigabyte z97x gaming 3/5

I've also researched for some MSI and ASUS boards.

1) Asus Maximus VII Ranger
2)MSI Z97 Gaming 3/5
3)Asus Z97-A
4)Asus Sabertooth z97 Mark 2

Please help me choose the best and suggest other boards if you know are a better option.
Thank you

Asus motherboards aren't bad choice. And there is nothing wrong with MSI QC. Quality, durability all are on pretty much the same level. As for aftermarket support it differs from place to place.
Between the Gigabyte Z97X UD3H and Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 5 there isn't much difference.

The boards are almost identical with the Gaming model supporting very slightly faster RAM at the absolute top-end (3200Mhz instead of 3100Mhz).

They're essentially identical boards and will perform identically for all users except those who are looking for a very specific feature.

I'd recommend a Gigabyte board simply because I have more experience with that brand and they are tough, durable and reliable, in my experience.

There's a board of gigabyte, z97x ud3h-bk. Is it the same one? I guess its the black version of the ud3h.

Also about gigabyte z97x ud5h. Is it a up model for the ud3h? How is it better than z97x ud3h and gaming 5.

For Z97 boards I always recommend MSI Gaming 5 , Asrock extreme 6 or The Gigabyte Gaming 5 all of them are great boards and have cool features.Overclocking is pretty much the same across all boards. It is hard to declare a clear winner. It all comes down to personal preference.
From your list I'll pick MSI Gaming 5

I've heard that asus has better QC than msi. Isn't the asus maximus VII Ranger and the asus z97-A a good choice?

In terms of quality, durability and better aftermarket support, which is better? Gigabyte MSI or Asus?

What is the difference in gigabyte ga-z97x gaming 3 and ga-z97x gaming 5? They provide the same specs? i think they do but they definitely have a price difference. What makes them different then?
