Which is better for the money.

I5-9400F + ASUS H310M-K or Ryzen 5 2600 + MSI A320M ?

I would choose the Ryzen rig, as it has far more future upgrade options. Assuming this is the exact board, but it has Ryzen 5000 bios support now. You could get that now, then later on spend the $150 on an R5 5600, and sell the 2600 to make up some of the cost.

I have the same thought. Thanks for confirming. Just for the record, the I5 is faster than the ryzen? there are multiple source have different conclusion on this

It would be a bit of a toss up. Depends a lot on the game.

9400F has slightly better single thread performance, but the 2600 has SMT so 6 threads vs 12. Later titles may run more smoothly if not outright faster on the 2600, but older games will likely run faster on the 9400F.
