Better CPU or Better GPU

Ok, so I have been saving up and I'm finally going to splurge on a good computer. The thing is, I am deciding whether I should get a computer with a 1070 ti with a intel 9700k processor, or a computer with a 1080 and an intel 8700k processor. Everything else about the computers is the same, except for the price. I will be using the computer for primarily games, but also 3d animation and modeling and rendering.

Look to the types of games you will play.
If you favor fast action games, favor the better GTX1080 setup.
If you play more cpu centric fames like sims, strategy, or mmo games then favor the 9700K

the difference between 9700k and 8700k i games is 0-5%
the difference between 1070ti and 1080 is 10-15%
its especially true if you play games at 1440p and higher

Agree, 8700k with 1080. The difference between the 8700k & 9700k is negligible.
