Hi!

So I recently bought GTX 1080Ti. a beast of a graphics card.

But on the bottleneck calculator website, I found out that my I5 9400f is a 50% bottleneck for this gpu.

I also found out that i9 9th gen is what I need, but I don't have enough money for that kind of expensive cpu.

Which cpu would be a bit better than my i5 9400f within a budget the price reach. I bought this cpu last year for like 200$.

So what Cpu would be better within 250-300 $

Solution
1x8gb and 1x16 gb :ddd I know it's odd but it works really well.

I tested it on Division 2. If I set everything to ultra fps starts dropping to 50. I need to set at least something to high or medium.

Will test on mafia 3 tomorrow
Running a mixture of RAM could cause lost performance. At best it will operate in a hybrid of 2x8 in dual channel and a further 1x8gb in single channel and the single channel hurts gaming performance.

You really dont need an i9 9th gen. Sadly, if you have a LGA1151 board you miss out on 10th gen stuff. An i5 9600k(f) would be an excellent pairing for a 1080 ti though. Although I'm surprised at that outcome, as an 9400f should be able to handle the 1080 ti (at most games, atleast).

Do not use bottleneck calculators. They are misleading garbage.

Have you actually got a ‘bottleneck’ in the games you play at the resolution and game settings you use?

What’s the full pc spec?

I don't really know. all tough, I can't run Far cry 5 on full ultra, I experience fps drops to 45-50 (on 1080p)

I5 9400f
gtx 1080ti
24 Gb of ram 2666
Regular HDD
650W PSU

24GB? Is that 3x8GB or something else?

Use a program like MSIAfterburner to monitor all cpu cores and gpu usage while playing FC5. Have you tried lower game settings? If it’s only one game giving you lower than expected performance is that really an issue.

It's in dual channel, rams are at the same speed and all the games run like benchmark videos on YouTube (where they have 16). So I don't have a problem there.
