ok so my specs for my computer i recently built are

CPU: AMD FX 8350
GPU: GTX 960
RAM: 8 gigs
MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte 970a-D3P
i want to get into gaming and i would like to run ark on at least high i can run low on 70 fps but im looking to buy a gtx 980 and 8 more gigs of ram im hoping that can make me run everything better but one of my friends told my to just get the i7 instead and im wondering if that affects fps in any way i know amd is shit but it was a decent budget build. Does motherboard have any impact as well?

anyway any tips on how to upgrade my computer to run games better 60fps+ on all high thanks :)

buy a GTX 980, it will probably damn near max out your CPU, but it should dramatically improve your performance the instant you install it. That will carry over to an intel build later if you wish. Getting an i7 and putting a GTX 960 in it really won't improve your performance much, if at all.

if you only have 1x8gb stick DEFINITELY get a second stick. if it is 2x4GB then i'd hold off and see if you even need to make the RAM purchase. It is important to have 2 sticks of RAM to run dual channel.
