Better LAN Card = Better Internet Speeds... Right?

I've tried the internet speed tests on the internet, and I want to increase the internet speed. I was wondering if installing a LAN Card onto my motherboard would be faster than the integrated one on my motherboard.

I wasn't too sure what category to put this under, but I went with motherboards anyway.

Nope, no difference. Make sure you're set to Full Duplex 1 GB in device manager -> (your network adapter) -> properties -> advanced -> Media/Link Speed/Duplex.

No. A discrete network card is not going to improve your Internet speeds. Only upgrading to a better service from your ISP can do that.

It wont. only way you can increase internet speed is to get a better subscription from your ISP.

discrete network card is used for a broken network port on a motherboard.

NOT! Folks who are looking for better NIC are gaming folks who are looking for the most minute latency gain. Mundane Internet download/upload speed gain is set by the carrier and how much (which service) you paid.
