I run a Skylake build with the 6600k and 2 msi gtx 970s in sli, Im currently using a Dell 2408WFP( bought in 2008) which i love, but has had virtical line issues for a while now. I play games like Total war / Company of heroes, to darksouls and gta V, and many many more fps/ and faster paced games that require no lag, G-sync has been on my wishlist forwhile, and i have always loved my Dell monitor ( other then the screen issues) but the fact this dell is a TN panel bugs me, any thoughts on the question would be appreciated!! ALSO any different monitor suggestions would be appreciated

The S2716DG would be perfect for you imo.
It is a great monitor and should be good with G-Sync enabled with your specs. :)
The Dell is very good for a TN monitor, it is typically only with those lower end 144hz 1080p monitors where really dulled out colors are a problem. 😉

Personally I haven't seen the Dell display in action, but I've heard good things about it from friends. if you like Dell you can stick with that and now a days TN panels are quite good, they differ mostly on viewing angles, they are now closer to IPS panels than you think.

the ASUS MG279Q is an awesome monitor but it would be a waste having Freesync with nVidia cards and the Gsync version if quite expensive.

I'd suggest if you have access to a store that sells monitors, to go there and see them with your own eyes before making a decision.
