Hello, I recently built a new computer.
I have the Corsair H55 Liquid CPU Cooler and I feel that it definitely does not suffice since my processor has idle temperatures of about 40 at 4.2 GHz. Could I get some advice as to which CPU Cooler to get? I'm looking to overclock my i5-4690k to a stable 4.5 GHz at the minimum with reasonably low temperature. I've looked at the Kraken X61 and the Corsair H110. How quiet are these two? I want the cooler to be as quiet as possible.

Also I plan on getting a new graphics card relatively soon. Do you recommend an extra cooling plate for it? The one that attaches, with extra fans? I have the Gigabyte GTX 970 with 3 fans, or the MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr in mind.

My build:
MSI Z97 Gaming 5 Motherboard
Intel Core i5-4690k Processor
Corsair H55 Liquid CPU Cooler Quiet Edition
2 x 4 GB HyperX Fury Cl10 1866mHz RAM
2x EVGA GTX 260 Graphics Cards
Corsair RM850 PSU
Corsair Carbide Series 330R Silent Computer Case
Samsung 840 Evo 256 GB SSD
WesternDigital 4 TB 5200 RPM HD

You could try my CM Nepton 280L, but for some cases, it might ask you to drill holes in pcpartpicker, lol. But put it in pcpartpicker and see if it does with your case. But yeah, go with Noctua if you want pure performance with ultimate ugliness :)
Your case can take an air cooler up to 170mm high. Or a 280mm radiator.

Any air cooler will fit over the HyperX ram as its only 30mm high.
The best of the air cooler is the Noctua NH D15 which will fit and be very quiet.

You could also try a Corsair H100i or H110 water cooler. They are usually noisier than air coolers though.

Hahah honestly if the Noctua looked any more attractive then I'd definitely go for it right away.
Hmm, so you guys would say the Noctua would be the most quiet with more performance? I'll probably go with that then. Thanks for the consideration of ram as well. Do you recommend buying additional two fans for the top of my case?

Alright I'll go with the MSI GTX 970 but yah, do I need a cooling for it? Such as the ARCTIC Twin Turbo 3 or the NZXT G10?

If I wanted to change the fans, could you Amazon link me to any fans that aren't the baby color poop fans? And once again, do you recommend getting an additional two fans for the top of my case then?

Alright hahaha thanks. Last two questions!
How relatively quiet is the Noctua? I really don't want it to be that loud, but you said it's more quiet than the liquid cooling which seems nice

Which fans can I get to replace!? I researched a little and see that Scythe Slip Streams are used, but I dont know which of the two to choose when looking on Amazon

RIP.

I know that if you're wanting a pure black CPU cooler the be quiet Dark Rock 3 is a good choice and can even be used as a fanless heat sink (overclocking not advised) for a silent PC as demonstrated by Linus Sebastian (better known as Linus Tech Tips)

Corsair H100/110i are also good inclusions as well as the NZXT Kraken X60. Another watercooling suggesting would be to wait for the 110GT from corsair to come out .

I actually do open my windows though, that's why I suggested it :) My CPU goes down from like 60C to 40C the highest when my window is open while gaming 4k@ultra. And like 55C for my GPUs, my heater is actually broken in my room, so it doesn't matter if I open my window, I create my own heat with just my PC and TV 😀

140mm can cover more space, so go for that if you want a little bit more CFM, although sometimes 120mm has more CFM than 140mm, so that's weird. The bigger the fan is, the less sound it makes since it doesn't require to spin that much to move the air.

Mm I see. The only reason I didn't wanna choose the Noctua was because it was so ugly.. But thanks for helping me out! I will be getting the Noctua NH-D15, replace it with 2x of the 120 mm Noctua NF-S12B. Then I'll buy 3x Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition and hope for the best!
