You should upgrade your GPU first for a few reasons. Firstly, the CPUs you're considering wouldn't fit if you bought them. They need an LGA 1150 socket and your current CPU and thus your current motherboard is an LGA 1155 socket, meaning you need a brand new motherboard if you want them to work. It's a good thing you went on here to confirm first, because you'd be pretty unhappy if you ended up buying the CPU without realizing that you need a whole new motherboard.

Secondly, even though you always want to make sure you have a good balance of parts, you'll always see a much larger performance increase from a new graphics card than from a new CPU -- that's assuming that your pre-upgrade build doesn't have a large CPU bottleneck, and not...

So upgrade your GPU first.

If it was me I would get the cpu. Everything runs off the MB and cpu. It has wider benefit to your system in this case. Also GPU's are constantly evolving and this creates constant closeouts and deals. A new generation comes along and the previous drops in price. You can afford a 4670K and still be under budget. Then you could easily overclock in (K is the key) and have even more bang for your buck. What MB do you have? If you want to O.C. you will want an after market cooler also (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116899 and http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100006519%2050001333%2040000574&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&ActiveSearchResult=True&SrchInDesc=212&Page=1&PageSize=20 either cooler will work great. So for your 260 you get a much faster cpu and cooler setup. Then save the money for a video upgrade later.

R9 270x is good for 1080p gaming.
If you are going with the LGA 1150 MoBo then just wait for the i5 4690K to come to stores. Atleast wait for the indian price to come. It has been released this month and it can be overclocked to great limits. It is also future proof ! Even proofed for the skywell chips to come next year!
If it stays under your budget then it will be the bestest option !!!
