Hi,

After reading through the forums i have decided to pick up a pair of these and a amp. Would i need a Xbox one stereo adapter with these also? I am gonna be using them for fallout 4 on xbox one and some pc gaming.

Solution
if you connect up to the controller (like you would earbuds) then yes, its not a hard setup to use equipment your'e talking about.

the xbox branded adapter is likely overpriced. it should be a standard 4pole 3.5mm headset jack. you will need an adapter yes (to split from the 4pole 3.5mm to two separate 3pole 3.5mm jacks for mic and headphone). these are often called headset adapter cables, pc headset to console adapters or various other names and are often fairly cheap (can be $2-5 at cheapest for low quality ones)

controller->splitter->amp->headphones. if you use a microphone (such as modmic) you will go direct to the mic side of the splitter (no amplifier).

check out amplifiers from fiio. the a3, e09k, e11, e10k, e17, e12 would...

Would this work as what you were suggesting instead of the xbox brand adapter? I just want to make sure i have everything because i live in a town that doesn't have access to some cables sometimes.

and yeah ill probably invest in the schiit magni .

as far as adapter cables are concerned, brand doesnt matter just function.

no, as far as if you want/need the block with buttons which attaches to the controller... thats up to you (would add a mute button) but its not necessary unless you want a mute button (unplugging the mic would work too).

I just wanted you to confirm that was the right cable im looking for.

so 4pole 3.5mm is the same as 4pin 3.5mm?

4pin, 4pole, trrs(tip-ring-ring-sleeve). its known by a few names

basically 4 separate parts on the connector. 3pole (trs) only has 3 parts on the connector.

kk last question, I just ordered the Headphones and Magni 2 Amp.

for the 4pole 3.5mm headset jack which is it out of these 2

Hi I am having trouble trying to hook up my fiio e10k to my astro mixamp and pc at the same time any suggestions?

that is because you can't

the fiio e10k ONLY has usb connection for input and does not have a line in or analog input jack. it is meant to be used as a digital analog converter from the source and use its own internal amp to power on its output. the mixamp is a DAC and amp as well and outputs an analog signal.

if you wanted something to put in line after the astro... a normal amplifier would have been what you needed. either that or a different model dac+amp which has an analog input to bypass the dac and just use the amplifier.
