My Specs:

Intel 4670K
ASUS Z87 MOBO
XFX 7950 3GB DDR
120 GB SAMSUNG SSD
16 GB DDR 3 1600 MHZ
Samsung 27 in lcd 1920*1080 @60hz
WIN 7 64 BIT

Can anyone suggest a 27 inch monitor with a refresh rate of 120 or 144? I can spend about $400 as a maximum. When I cruise Newegg or any of the other sites people rave about the quality, and believe with my current setup that a new monitor is the next choice for an upgrade. Also, if I do get a better monitor would crossfire be a logical idea?

ive got the asus 144 hz 24 inch monitor and i absolutely love it. ive got a hard time gaming at only 60 fps now since upgrading.

even the ps4 on my 50 inch tv looks choppy to me now. the only problem is you need a fair amount of graphics horsepower to run games at ultra setting over 100 fps.

You think getting another 7950 would be a good addition for me to run that monitor you have??

Not to bring you to the Nvidia side, but I am currently using the VG248QE 24 inch monitor paired with a beautiful Gigabyte GTX 970 Gaming edition. The upgrade from my ASUS GTX 770 was abso-fricken-lutely-amazing considering I got this one for $20 more than I got my 770 brand new (one year ago :p).

I've had a couple performance issues with CS:GO and Minecraft, but as I adjust some of my software, it seems to get better. Other than that, almost a 50% increase in performance in: ArmA 3, Furmark @ 1080p, Chivalry, you pretty much name it.

Edit: almost forgot about the 144hz part, lol. As a matter of opnion, you really don't "need" it for games such as ArmA, Chivalry, but more for games like CS:GO and other FPS games as every move counts. It also provides much less screen tearing, and when there is, it's minute. Other than that, it's more of a visual orgasm if you ask me (I'm not trying to be funny [kind of], it literally is that much better).

Also as a personal note, the 144hz strains my eyes much less than 60 hz. I think it's less processing for your mind to complete the images in between and put each frame together.

Lastly, the GPU upgrade is your call. Really you need to just consider that games that run no better than 60 FPS on your system will look 100% the same. Refresh rate and FPS go hand in hand. If there is one frame update per monitor refresh (144FPS on 144Hz). it will look perfect (hence why v-sync exists).
