BF1 Bad performance on a good rig.

I have been enjoying the BF1 beta, or what i am able to. I am getting pretty bad lag and frame drops. I run the game on ultra, but even when switching to low, its the same framerate.
I dont know whats happening, any help is appreciated.

GPU: Geforce GTX 980ti SC
CPU: Intel Core I7 4790k @4.0GhZ
RAM: 8gb ddr3 (that needs an upgrade)

How bad?
I'm not getting the greatest performance either, dips into the 40's are fairly common in heavy combat. My CPU usage is pegged at 100% load constant in this game, I'm thinking of bumping my overclock from 4.3 to 4.6 to see if that helps but BF1 Beta seems EXTREMELY CPU-heavy. I don't have a single other game that needs more than 80% load on my CPU to maintain 60fps.

Really? Im getting 120 FPS on a i5-6600k OC to 4.3ghz and a GTX ROG Strix 1060.

I should mention that is with all settings maxed, dx12 enabled, and resolution scale at 100%..

Same, it set mine to Ultra, but i don't know about max.....

"resolution scale at 100%" is your problem. 42% is the native settings for the beta. 100% is like internally rendering at 8k or something crazy. I can't find the official number but I've read 42% is 4k native internal rendering.

I am also surprised as I've played a fair bit and seen max of 90% on my i5 and I domt think its ever caused drops below 60 aside from the odd stutter here and there.

I did wonder if ram speed may be an issue and I did find that trying 1600mhz led to lower min fps and more stutter, whereas the whole thing was smoother at 2400. That was just based on me checking the osd rather than any scientific testing though.

Huh, maybe it was just the res scale setting then, I will go try that...
