hello, i bought gtx 1060 and tried playing battlefield 1. On the first tutorial mission i had stable 60 fps(on ultra), but when i tried to play multiplayer, my frames dropped down to 20-40( doesn't matter if i play on ultra or on low). Anyone have any idea what might be causing this? Also, i think it's worth mentioning, before 1060, i had gtx 660, and the first time i played overwatch i had ~100fps on medium preset, next day, my pc struggled to reach 40 fps on the same settings. I found that the only fix for this was disableing gpu drivers and enabling them after. Tried doing the same with bf1, didn't help.
PC specs:
gpu: MSI gtx 1060 6gb
cpu: i5 4760k 3.40GHz
ram: 8gb

Solution
Ok. That 100% cpu usage is the issue. The CPU simply can't provide enough frames for the gpu and you are seeing framedrops.

To overclock, you'll need to do some reading up on line. Minimum needed:

- a 'z' motherboard (I.e. Z97)
- aftermarket cooler (NOT the stock intel one)
- a better PSU. Honestly, that codegen (assuming the Super Power 600) is really poor and actually only delivers half that. Not suitable for modern hardware overclocking Imo

Well, bf1 mp likes fast cpus, you'll want to overclock that i5 to somewhere around 4.2 assuming you have sufficinet cooling. If I drop my clocks to 3.9 ish I will get frame drops as CPU hits 100%.

Also, what is your psu? Is your cpu maxing out resulting in less than 100% gpu usage?

mu psu is a codegen 600w
gpu fans are definitely not spinning at the max speed(almost can't hear them without headphones), but i'm not sure about gpu usage, i'll check it in the morning. I checked my cpu usage and it's always 98-100%. I've never overclocked anything and don't know how it works or what is a sufficient cooling. I have a fan on a cpu and a fan in the back of the case which is near cpu, also i have 1 side of my case open(not sure if it's bad or not) . Any help with overclocking would be nice.
