BF3 - freezing and shutting down after 10-20 min

I have an issue when i'm playing BF3.
After about 15-20 minutes the game freezes totally (i can't even go to desktop or ctrl +alt + del) and then after 10-20 then whole machine shuts down.

My setup:
Gigabyte P35-DS3
Intel Core 2 Q66000 - OC 2.8 GHz
4 GB RAM PC2-6400
Powercolor Radeon 5870 - 900/1250 MHz
Western Digital 500GB

I have tried to adjust the OC on both GPU and CPU, i've also removed the OC totally, but the problem continues. I've done a clean install of windows and tried with different drivers.
My CPU never gets past 60 degrees celcius, and my GPU never past 65.

I don't know what to do next, so i would really love if anyone could help me solve this issue!

Check your memory. Use memtest software for that:

www.memtest.org

Make sure to let it pass at least 3 times.

how do you know the gpu doesn't go past 65?

it will be his cpu

i can run battlefield fine on a hd4670.

his cpu is weaker than a sandy i3 acording to cpu hierarchy charts

I stuttered on my old Q9550 on high density maps. but never to the point of shutting the game down.

I'll try checking the memory then.
I check the temps with HWmonitor.
There's no issue running the game, it runs smooth and without stuttering and all that.
It just freezes totally after abot 15 minutes.

Yes, stuttering is an SLI/CF issue only.

It could be a power supply issue, which one is yours?

micro stuttering is a sli/cf issue.

I was talking about major drops in fps that lasted for 2-3 frames.

How are you checking gpu/cpu temps? can you watch them in game from a second screen.

I'm checking it after playing about 10 minutes, then i can see what the highest reached temps are i HWmonitor.

My power supply is a LC super silent 600W.
