Hi ive come here to try to get some answers to my issue with BF3 freezing up during play. Ive asked on BF3 forums and I have an EA ticket on it but they cant seem to get anywhere.
Ill explain as much as I can.
My System meets all recomended requirments and I'll post the DXDIAG at the end.
But heres the problem...
The game loads fine but within 30sec of game play the game locks up. freezes, i cant even get back to task manager. Cant do anything except hold the power button and cut the power.
It locks up in different places all the time but always within under 1min of in game play. It happens in campaign and multiplayer. I only tried mypliplayer once and it did exactly the same thing. So most of my testing and attempts to fix it have been in campaign.
It plays the CGI movies and intro stuff ok. It only locks up when im actually moving and playing.
Ive tried lowering the settings to absolute minimum.. still happens. Even though the auto recomended settings are pretty much maxd. (My PC should run it on max settings.)
My sound card is creative soundblaster X-fi. Im not certain that this is direct X compatable, but in BF3 forums a guy said he runs that card in BF3 with no issues. But the BF3 requirments do say the sound card needs to be DX compatable. Can anyone confirm that this card is?
Ive also disabled the sound card, and disabled on board sound. And that didnt work.
Initially I was running windows 7 32bit because I though it told me I had to run that. Since then I've reformated the hard drive and fresh installed windows 7 64bit and updated everything... and re installed BF3 and all updates etc went in smoothly. It was a nice smooth reformat. Ive gone in game and its still doing the same thing.
Ive run FurMark GPU stress test on my graphics card. I did a 30min burn and then a 15min base test. And it passed both with no issues.
The one time ive been able to get into task manager after BF3 locked up, it said "display device has recoverd from an error".
And the task manager stated BF3 was running, not "non responsive". But it was stiill locked up.
Ok il post the basics of the dxdiag.
