So i used to play Battlefield 3 a few years ago when i built my pc and it used to run on ultra with 100+ fps. Today i wanted to play bf3 for old times sake and saw that my fps would sit around 50 going up and down a bit. this happened in ultra settings aswell as low settings. the fps doesnt change if i change the settings it still stays at 50fps which looks very choppy especially since im used to 144fps on my 144hz monitor. What can i do to fix this because i know my computer can do better.
i5 4690k overclocked 3.8ghz
msi gtx 770 2gb vram
8gb ram 1600mhz

Solution
> Uninstall your current GPU drivers using DDU. It really helps in most cases. Make sure you install the latest and newest Nvidia Game Ready driver after.
> When playing games, check CPU + GPU temperatures and also check CPU + GPU utilisation. You can enable both using MSI Afterburner.
- High temperatures will indicate throttling, need to make sure nothing in your system is exceeding temps higher than 85-90 degrees for example.
- Checking utilisation will show you how much the CPU and GPU are used.
- Up to 100% usage on the GPU indicates It's being optimally used (good).
- Up to 100% usage on the CPU indicates a bottleneck (not good).

Have you recently UPGRADED your Windows 10, instead of doing a fresh install?
