This computer is a friends but I am building and wiring it all for him, so for the sake of conserving words I will refer to the computer as mine.
The computer
cpu: AMD Athlon II X3 445 Rana 3.1GHz
mob: MB MSI 870A FUZION RT
ram: corsair xms3 2x2 1600 ddr3
psu: corsair hx750
gpu:gigabyte windforce gtx 770 4g
This is strictly a gaming computer.
So the issue is that my computer will not play bf4(battlefield 4) I have a new gpu(gigabyte windforce gtx770 4g) and a new psu(corsair hx 750) with all of this it is still unplayable. I believe the problem is the ancient mob and cpu. I am not sure of this but I believe that to be the problem
First question: are the mob and cpu the problem?
If this is the problem then what cpu and mob should I get I am thinking the budget is some where around 400 and will buy it in the next month and a half. My first thoughts after reading the forums and researching is a
cpu: Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116504
mob:ASUS P8Z77-V PRO LGA 1155
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131819
I am not sure if the 4670k is worth it. I will eventually do overclocking on the cpu and gpu. I still have to learn how but avidly what to learn. Sli might be an option in the future but only up to two. I know that this board has dual x8 which isn't the best but it is good enough. It also has decent features and overclocks ok, but I am still learning and don't know how good my info is.
I am set on and intel and it has to allow OC. I would like an asus or gigabyte board because they are good quality and i have good experiences with asus. I know asrock has some good stuff but there quality control and features are a little rough.
Second question: is the i5-3570k and asus p8z77-v pro a good choice? If not then what should I get?
When overclocking I am not sure what I should use for cooling. I have heard that the corsair h100i is a good closed loop water cooler. (I have a cooler master hyper 212 for my personal computer.) Space is not an issue I have a nzxt 630 full tower case. Also wanted some good links on how to or info about open loop water coolers.
Third question: (in the future) What should I use for cooling the cpu when overclocking?
Thank you for taking the time to read this if I am not clear about anything or you need more info let me know.
