I Have applied so many fixes for this game found all over youtube and google and i still cannot achieve a FPS higher than around 54-60 Thats with every video setting the game has to offer turned every which way. I have a Custom User.cfg and PROFSAVE_profile.cfg i am running windows 8.1 with every driver updated. all game .exe's are running as administrator..... Please help guys. I can find countless videos of people being able to play at medium to high settings with over 100 fps...and no matter what i do i have quite a bit of screen tearing. im heading to work hopefully tonight we can get this fixed up. ty in advance guys.

I think you're likely hitting a CPU bottleneck, but it's somewhat hard to say without knowing what specific CPU you have. BF4 is a very CPU heavy game, and the only AMD chips that do well with it are the 6 and 8 core Piledriver FX models. The old Phenom IIs, the 4 core FX models, and the APUs aren't going to give you very high framerates, especially on larger multiplayer maps. If the people on those videos are using 6 or 8 core FX CPUs or Intel chips, then that's why they are getting much better performance than you.

An FX-4100 AMD 3.6ghz quad core. Yes i have uninstalled my entire OS and reinstalled windows 8.1 along with full game reinstall, full driver wipe. all latest drivers are now installed.

I have a AMD FX 4100 3.6ghz quad core. I have a Corsair h200 cooler and a 600 watt psu Installed so i could diffidently overclock but havnt due to not needing to in the past with all games, ive never had an issue.

Issue is with dx11 mode. When changing to mantle i see a much much more significant drop in my FPS along with alot of stuttering.

The FX 4100 unfortunately is a terrible gaming CPU, the old Phenom IIs it replaced are actually better in just about every way, along with every quad core or higher AMD chip that has come out since then. You're probably going to need to upgrade your CPU if you want more frames out of Battlefield 4, though overclocking would help a bit. If your motherboard supports it, grabbing an FX 6300 or 8320 would be a relatively inexpensive upgrade and would offer significant gains in Battlefield, though less so in other titles.

Well to be honest when i bought it for 100 dollars on new egg it was a pinch hit situation. I just applied my overclock settings to 4.0ghz sinse its proven time and time again to be more than stable at that level. i guess the average depending on motherboard and coolers and such is 4.1-4.6 before it start to get unstable. im going to test it right now in game to see if there is any increase. this is all just frustrating because i thought a r9 270x would be pushing out more performance than this. lately ive been thinking about ordering a r9 290x and a new processor. but i dont feel like upgrading me PSU aswell. with all this different upgrades i might as well build a new pc lol

UPDATE: I applied the overclock...played a match... im getting about 70ish fps now and it falls into the forties here and there with all settings on lowest... my menu FPS has jumped up to 120+ now though...which is odd.
