BF4 Upgrade, Ultra 120fps

Hey everybody,

I'm looking to upgrade my PC, so I can record and play BF4 at ultra 120fps settings.
Here is my current setup:
Intel i7-2600K CPU @3.4 GHZ 4 Cores (64 Bit)
16gb RAM-Super Talent
AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series
230gb SSD
1,000gb HDD
Corsair CX600 Power Supply
LG Optical Drive

I have a budget of $1,000. What are the upgrades I can do? Please tell me. I'm going to be recording AS WELL AS playing BF4 ultra settings 120 FPS.
Help me out!

PS: If I need a new graphics card or something, make sure you tell me if I need a new PSU or something as well...

Which GPU do you exactly have? 7950/7970/7990?

PS : probably not 7990 because of the PSU...

I'd say get a Corsair H100i and overclock your CPU to around the 5GHz level.

And depending on your GPU (7970?) SLI it.


Or pick up a pair of R9-290's. (cost about 800 for the pair) and SLI them.

Get 2 more and go 3-way xFire (assuming your mobo can do 3-way), overclock your CPU, and get a larger PSU.

Sorry, didn't realize you already have a 7970. In that case just get a 2nd, and crossfire them. You still however will need a more powerful psu, like the one I suggested.

There are a lot of glitches with crossfire though... What about getting a GTX 780 ti? Would that help?

780 Ti will give you about 75FPS

There are no single GPU solutions that will give you over 100FPS. You will have to go SLI / XFire if you want 120fps.

Even monsters like the 690 and 7990 don't break 100 fps

A single 780ti will not be enough to get what you want. If you are opposed to crossfire, I go back to my original suggestion SLI 770s

So 75-85FPS is about right on MP. Don't be disappointed, SLI GTX780 are on the top and BF4 is a very demanding game. However, it seems like you need 3 GPUs to reach 120FPS

I am not disappointed at all. The game runs very smooth, except all the bugs and disconnection issues.

As the tread started here, it wont be enough to get gtx780sli x2 to get 120fps. Like Foldalot says, 3 gpu perhaps 😀

You can just turn a few settings down a bit and still get the ultra look with 2 7950s at 120fps...you don't need to max everything.

I get 120fps all day with a couple 770s.... Granted my FPS will dip into the 80s on occasion. But mostly over 100FPS.
